Cave Kouroum Syrah 2011
Description and tasting notes
Cave Kouroum Syrah is extracted from our first commercial vintage of fully ripe syrah picked carefully and subjected to extensive maceration techniques and classical fermentation. It has been stored for 6 months in stainless steel vats and then aged for one year in low toast new French oak barrels. It has a very lovely garnet color. The nose recalls a bunch of fine and elegant black fruits (black fruit jam) which evolves to pepper and leather notes. The mouth is fruity, supple, vigorous, unctuous and structured. It is a wine of balanced and long texture. The tannins are melted and the whole lot is linear. It is a wine with a big potential. It has a highly oak character and aging potential. If served now it would be a strong concentrated ample wine with abundant tannins, seductive oak aromas and flavors and persistent finish. It can be served with delicate cheese, pasta, or spicy food. Cave Kouroum Syrah 2004 has an aging potential is 25 years.
